Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to submit manuscripts to the Pakistan Journal of Zoological Sciences (PJZS). All submissions are initially assessed by the editorial team to determine their alignment with the journal’s aims and scope. Submissions that pass the initial check will be sent for double-blind peer review.

Before submission, authors must ensure the following:

  • All co-authors have approved the final version of the manuscript.

  • Proper permissions have been obtained for any third-party content (e.g., figures, photos, datasets).

  • Where applicable, ethical approval has been obtained from a recognized ethics committee, in line with national and international research guidelines.

  • The manuscript is well-structured, with a clear research question or objective, logical argumentation, and appropriate methodology.

The editorial team reserves the right to desk reject submissions that do not meet basic quality standards, are outside the journal's scope, or lack originality.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements. Authors will be asked to confirm these at the time of submission:

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).
  • The article uses the Pakistan Journal of Zoological Sciences (PJZS) template. Download the DOCX template here
  • An Author Contribution Statement is included. Download the MS Word file here
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it under consideration by another journal.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness. Where applicable, URLs or DOIs are included.
  • All tables and figures are numbered and properly labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets, and other materials included in this submission.

Articles

This section accepts high-quality research articles in zoology and related fields. All submissions must be original, properly cited, and contribute meaningful insight to the discipline. Submissions must comply with submission guidelines. Manuscripts will undergo peer review to ensure scientific rigor and relevance.
